Welcome to Positive Development Psychology
In this post-pandemic, technology-driven world, raising and being a child today can be complex. While a parent is their child’s best advocate, we believe that raising a well-adjusted, confident and independent child is one of the hardest jobs. When challenges arise, it can be transformative to have the support of a therapist with expertise in child and adolescent social-emotional development.
Here at Positive Development Psychology, a therapy practice offering virtual therapy throughout New York and Connecticut, as well as in-person services in our Westchester location, we celebrate the unique qualities of each child and are committed to supporting their mental health and well-being. We specialize in treating anxiety disorders and behavioral issues and provide therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as parent-based interventions.
Through interactive and collaborative therapy sessions, we focus on creating strong therapeutic relationships with each child and family. Our goal is to provide an encouraging, caring, and supportive environment so that your child can develop coping skills, overcome the challenges they face, build confidence, and see positive changes in all aspects of their life.
Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments, Positive Development Psychology helps young people manage and navigate a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. With a flexible and individualized treatment approach, our process is rooted in practices supported by science, while compassion, understanding and guidance are at the heart of what we do.
